This listing is for an authentic vintage sample of barbed wire fencing. This wire features a Thomas H. Dodge & Charles G. Washburn patent, dated January 24, 1882. This wire is called "Dodge & Washburn's Four Point Flat Wire Barb Around One of Two Lines" by collectors. (ref. Hagemeier 1090-B). This wire features two twisted together round line wires. The barbs are four pointed made by twisting two flat barbing wires together around one of the line wires. Wire sample is 19" in length. Wire shows light age and use wear with minimal pitting. There are three barbs, well spaced, and cut is well centered. There is some bending of points, but no broken or missing points. Wire is in good used condition. This sample of antique barbed wire is absolutely old and authentic and sells with no reserve. Shipping will be $4.50, within the United States.
