Vintage Very Old 1905-1920 METAL Forest Service EMBOSSED Sign Salt Ground - $250 - (Tignall, GA)
This old Embossed Forest Service sign is made of metal/steel and measures 7" x 10". Reads "Ground Salt No. _____." It is not dated and the only markings on it is Form 1501 . FYI.....The Forest Service has had 3 official shields or emblems since they started. The first one dated from 1905 to 1920, the second 1920 to 1938, and the last 1938 to present. This sign has the emblem that dated from 1905-1920. There are no mounting holes in it. It does show some scratches, dings, minor paint loss etc. from being stacked in storage. This is stock that was left in an old FS building that was purchased decades ago by an elderly couple. Very good condition for it's age. Extra insurance has been added to the shipping charges.
