CONFEDERATE LOUISIANA NEW ORLEANS $5 BILL CANAL & BANKING UNCIRCULATED This note, was issued in New Orleans, Louisiana during the 1860's Civil War Era. The note portrays the image of the Roman numeral's five (V). A portrait of Benjamin Franklin, Women and children surrounding the '5' at the top of the note and a women sitting in the '5' on the side of the note. This note was issued by the bank, Canal & Banking Co, a Louisianan bank. Even after over 150 years, the note remains in near uncirculated condition. The note was never given its signatures and a serial number to enter circulation.
