General The Town of River Bend (pop. 3,100), located in Craven County, just five miles from New Bern, is seeking candidates for the position of: PUBLIC WORKS TECHNICIAN TO ASSIST WITH HURRICANE RECOVERY EFFORTS Under general and sometimes limited direct supervision performs grounds, street, building, and utility maintenance and repair duties. Perfect applicant will possess 3-five years of background in general carpentry, electrical and other maintenance related experience. Preference given to candidates with background in water and sewer operation/maintenance. Position necessitates high-school graduation, sufficient background to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position, and possession of a valid NC driver’s license.
