Legacy Tonewood specializes in supplying luthiers with the finest Adirondack red spruce tonewood. All of the wood comes from the Adirondack Mountains in New York. Logs are carefully processed to yield the best tonewood that is all air dried; the traditional method of seasoning. This auction is for a soundboard sized to fit up to a dreadnought guitar. Dimensions are 22 7/8" long, 8 5/8" tapering to 8" wide and .200" thick per half. Aesthetically, this is a typical Adirondack soundboard with grain spacing that varies across the width, some color variation and a little bit of coarse latewood. It is well quartersawn and does not have extensive grain runout. The wood has been air drying for several years, since October of 2013. This will make a nice guitar with the characteristic look of Adirondack spruce. There is a small pin knot that can be located in the soundhole and completely removed.
