This ink and color on paper or silk painting was brought back from Europe during a trip by a wealthy couple sometime in the late 50”s to early 60’s. They often brought back expensive items from their trips to Asia. This is one of several items I will be listing from this couples trips. I am not an expert on this item. Attributed Artist: Jiang Tingxi (? ? ? , 1669–1732) signed, dated, two seals Description Inscription: ????????????(Painted in the autumn of the year 1676 at the pond of the lotus) Date autumn 1676 or 1736 Height 54 inches Length 28 Extra Notes The painting looks as if it were from Jiang Tingxi (? ? ? , 1669–1732). His courtesy name was Yangsun (??).Jiang Tingxi was a very famous Chinese painter, and one of the editors of the encyclopedia ??????(Complete Collection of Ancient and Modern Writings and Charts). Today, his paintings cost several million euros. However, at the time of the creation of the painting in 1676, Jiang Tingxi would have been only seven years old, or had already died if the painting dates from 1736 .
