Public Works Director The City of Ishpeming , Michigan , population 6,686, is accepting applications for the position of Department of Public Works Director. This position, under the supervision of the City Manager, oversees and coordinates all operations of the Department of Public Works, including, but not limited to, streets, water, sewer, cemetery, parks, equipment maintenance, building maintenance, etc. The Ishpeming Public Works Director supervises seventeen full time employees and approx ten seasonal workers. This position also provides staff support to the Cemetery Board and the Parks and Recreation Commission. This is a union position. Minimum experience : (1) a min of 6 years of increasingly responsible experience in public works or commercial construction work, (2) demonstrated strong management and leadership skills, (3) Michigan Vehicle Operator License, (4) S-2 Water Distribution License required (or expertise to attain in 6 months), (5) demonstrated work ethic
