Two page typed letter on U.S. Senate letterhead from then Senator John Glenn describing his experience before and during his flight aboard Friendship 7 on February 20, 1962. Very detailed letter about the mission and the original 7 astronauts. This signed letter is dated March 4, 1996. Also included is a United States First Day Cover with cache of John Glenn post marked February 20, 1962 at 3:30pm from Cape Canaveral, Florida commemorating first successful orbital flight by an american cancelled with a 4 cent Project Mercury stamp. This letter and FDC comes framed with acid free matt. This collectible of a true American Hero is perfect for any collector.
