CIRCA 1904 MONARCH TYPEWRITER TRADE SIGN MAINE ESTATE Rare - $3,000 - (Winterport, ME)

Recently found in a Bangor Maine attic.A scarce 2 sided wood sandpaper trade sign for a Monarch Typewriter AGENCY.This sign dates circa 1904 and measures 14"H x 21.5"W.It is in used estate condition with a nice old mellow patina and signs of wear consistent with being hung outside. Of note on this sign is the fact that Monarch was painted over another typewriter brand, ostensibly when this business changed to being a Monarch Typewriter Agency in the early 1900's. None of this is particularly noticeable, though, and then only if one looks closely. The original iron hooks are gone.The photos fairly reflect the sign's condition.This is a wonderful antique trade sign and I doubt that you will easily find another referencing typewriters.Fully guaranteed as described.No sale out of the country.Maine sale subject to 5.5% sales tax.
