Trunk -Designer Original from Late 1800s - Early 1900s - Goyard Paris - $6,200 - (Pueblo, CO)
This designer and highly collectible trunk was owned by Gertrude Fogler, MGM Studio's famous speech teacher of many well-known stars during the 40's-50's in Hollywood. Gertrude was a dear friend of our fathers and thus left him this trunk. She was from Paris and came to the U.S. very early in life. The trunk is original, all hardware seemingly the same as when it was produced. It is in good condition for it's age. It closes and latches wonderfully well. We do not have a key, but there is a number on the hardware we believe might be usable for one to be secured. There are some exterior spots where the finish is scratched away and missing from good use. There is a marking on the top 'La Havre....' and a sticker from Hotel La Menara, Marrakech. The small fabric marked with Goyard's famous G emblem has the no. 1421 on it. Goyard was established in 1853 @ 233 Ave St Honore and the metal plates on each end of this trunk are marked with this address. The luggage designer/maker is still in business today, with several locations worldwide, including the U. S. We are looking for REASONABLE OFFERS. Estimated empty weight is 25 to 30 lbs. United States sales/shipping only.
