WE ARE SELLING OUR 40 ENTIRE COLLECTION OF Chinese Export Silver SELLING OVER 400 EXAMPLES.................. One of our finest examples is this mid 19th century Chinese export silver teapot. In naturalistic form. Almost never seen in Chinese export silver. Hallmarked for maker CU and date letter "k" and 3 pseudo marks. Possibly variation of Cutshing's mark. The identical mark illustrated and discussed in Forbes text. In raised pear shape. Lower half with beautifully applied and then hand chased leaf and flower. Cover with lotus blossom bud in leaf frame. Petal fluting and traditional grape and leaf on stippled surface. Original collar support and under base hand cut fastener. Leaf crown twisted rope or vine handle. The handle rising from three ruffled leaf and long coiled vine. Atop scallop frame scroll feet united by floating leaf and vine on stippled ground. Never monogrammed. This museum worthy c1840 Chinese teapot is 11 1/2 inches and 54 1/2 standard ounces. Hallmarked as shown. In excellent condition. Rich, lustreous silver patina throughout. The beautifully leaf and floral retain their original crisp, vibrant detail. Cover closes tight. Handle secure. original heat stops. Mild wear. Massachusetts residents are subject to sales tax.
