Large antique German Brueder Thannhauser Company amber glass beer stein/tankard - $899 - (Birmingham, AL)

For your consideration one very large honey amber gold glass antique German beer stein/ tankard.This tankard or pourer appears to be from the Brueder Thannhauser Beer Company or B.T.M. of Munchen,which closed in 1916 due to the war. The tankard is about 15 1/2 inches tall to top pewter thumb finial. The hand painted enameling is of a snowy white Germanic warrior ,soldier or knight with armor, sword and a winged helmet.The base is about 7 inches wide with gold trim on the rim of the top. Please note there is some wear to this gold trim where the pewter meets the glass due to use over the last 100 years.The bottom of the tankard appears ground. The pewter top has a mark that appears to be a large sideways R that fell forward { last photo }with no other markings and a winged maiden"s bust on the thumb lift.Other than normal wear the tankard has no visible damage.Please look at all photos as they are part of the description.
