Engineering Technician - (Colstrip, MT)

Summary Description: Work with the Engineering, Permitting and Reclamation departments to design maps for the state mine permit. Maps include mine plans, drainage plans, post-mine topography, vegetative, land use and ownership, etc. Work with the Engineering , Production, and Safety departments on short term plans, budget maps, drill hole maps, MSHA maps, etc. Assist Engineers with mapping and design of haulroads, ramproads, dragline corridors, including volumes. Assist Engineers with permit required monitoring on-site. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Maintain file management structure for AutoCAD drawings 2. Set up drawing standards for layers, line types and plotting 3. Use of SurvCAD for design of haulroads, ramproads, stream channels and management of associated files 4. Use SurvCAD for set up import-export for Leica GPS 5. Use Leica GPS survey equipment for month-end reporting 6. Ground water, surface water, mapping, monitoring and data entry (Access and Ms excel) 7.
